River City
River City is a BBC Scotland's drama series, capturing the lives, struggles, and humor of a working-class community in Shieldinch, a fictional district of Glasgow. Since its launch in 2002, this beloved soap opera has been a cornerstone of Scottish television. As a major talent engine for the UK creative industry, the iconic series is ending in 2026 after a historic 24-year run.
Since 2023, I have risen through the post-production ranks on River City. I started as an Edit Assistant managing ingestion, syncing, and grouping for Season 25. For Season 26, I was promoted to Assistant Editor, where I cut episode teasers, helped with social media content, and assisted the Lead Editors with assembly edits and soundscapes. Then, in the final season, I got the chance to edit my first four full TV drama episodes—a proud moment for me that brought my journey on the show full circle. These episodes were broadcast on BBC Scotland and BBC iPlayer in April 2026.
I learned so much at River City from the long-standing post-production team. I gained experience in large-scale show workflows and editing techniques, while delivering high-quality work under pressure within a very quick turnaround time. I am incredibly happy to have been part of the River City family.
